Justin Enders is a Chicago-transplant from Toledo, Ohio who has lived in the Windy City for over 30 years. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Iowa State University and has many years of personal training experience with respected establishments like Equinox & David Barton along with over 8 years of CrossFit training.
Beyond personal training and CrossFit experience, Enders spent years prior competing as both a wrestler and cross country runner. Currently he is into mountain biking, skiing, golf & hanging out with family and friends
His advice for anyone interested in Crossfit is: Try it. Leave your ego at the door. Don’t be intimidated. Once you start and get familiar with CrossFit, you will find a friendly and accepting community waiting for you at the box. Plus the results you were looking for.

Tommy Brodlo, Coach, Owner

Beginning in high school with conditioning training for football, baseball and Tae Kwon Do, Physical Education and Bodybuilding in college, and then professionally as a Personal Trainer and now with his role as a CrossFit Coach, Tommy has always striven to excel in every fitness arena he has entered.
Tommy holds a degree in Physical Education and has worked as a physical instructor for the Chicago Park District for over 10 years, along with over 15 years of physical training experience. Tommy has been coaching CrossFit since 2009.
The one thing Tommy wants everyone who comes to Edgewater CrossFit to know is: "I am always striving to continue educating myself and improving my fitness for my clients and also myself. I am well qualified and highly motivated to help all my clients performance and education in all their CrossFit endeavors."

Sancho Jr, Coach

Hailing from his home country of Macedonia, Sanhco harbors a strong passion for combat training, overall fitness, and nutrition. In his youth, Sancho took an early interest in the Korean discipline of Tae Kwon Do and the Chinese art of Wing Tsun. These early interactions intensified his interest in martial arts..
Sancho competed in water polo throughout high school, and soon took an interest in kickboxing. Through the Gladiator Kickboxing Club of Macedonia, Senad trained for six years, two of which he became a certified coach.
His Once engaged in CrossFit he immediately braced the concept that CrossFit is build on- General Physical Preparedness (GPP) and came up with the idea that spicing the workouts up with elements of striking was going to add more variety, increasing body awareness, and increased athletic performance of the clients. Sancho holds fast to the idea that practicing Kickboxing as a skill , which covers almost all of the CrossFit domains, is going to boost his clients mental preparedness and increase their self confidence.
As a coach, he not only wants to help his clients achieve their goals and dreams, but help them truly understand the science of exercise and nutrition.

Sarah Rose, CrossFit Coach

After earning 12 season varsity athlete status during high school, Sarah continued on her athletic endeavors playing intramural sports in College. She attended Indiana University where she got her Bachelor of Science in Education, and even won coed basketball and kickball intramural sports championships
After earning her degree, Sarah moved back to Chicago to be with her family. Once there she continued adding to her physical fitness achievements, completing her first sprint triathlon and marathon as well as numerous half marathons, 5ks and 10ks. Although this kept her physically fit, she felt something lacking in terms of her athletic abilities. She continued to explore the spectrum of athletic fitness, trying her hand at power yoga and even Muay Thai boxing, yet still didn’t find exactly what she was searching for. Then in August of 2012, Sarah’s sister introduced her to Lincoln Park CrossFit where she finally found her fit, and fell in love with her athletic community..
CrossFit has provided numerous benefits to Sarah. First and foremost, she believes the community that is involved at LPCF is irreplaceable. She loves that everyone is out going, friendly, and always brings high energy and enthusiasm to the daily WODs. More so, she thrives on the repeated daily challenges, facing possible failure and then always getting right back up and powering through it the next time. Sarah always enjoys programming Saturday partner WODs for LPFC, working both with the coaches and members. Her hope is to continue to be a great motivator, leader, and teacher to those who want to become as passionate about CrossFit as she is.

Chris Bowman, CrossFit Coach
Chris has been fascinated with the study of human health, optimal function and movement her entire life, beginning with her involvement in dance lessons and winning local dance competitions from age 3-15, cheerleading for every sport allowable in junior high and high school, and competing in high school track and field, her favorite event being high jump. She fell in love with weight lifting during her training for field events, and has always been most at home in a gym setting. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, having absolutely no idea what she wanted to do with her life, but a strong passion for psychology, human movement, and reading about health and wellness in her spare time.
Chris spent her 20’s working in a corporate setting, and running, lifting and training in a traditional gym setting in her free time, and became and loved being a Spinning® instructor for 6 years, before going back to school to get her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the National University of Health Sciences. She has studied and practiced numerous movement and bodywork techniques, including: Active Release Technique®, BioCranial®, Zero Balancing®, and Applied Kinesiology. She has been a licensed Chiropractor in IL since 2001.
Chris found CrossFit at age 43 through the Paleo/Primal community, after a period of stress and work related burn-out. The Paleo/Primal lifestyle gave her back her energy and health, and she decided she wanted to get out of her comfort zone with her fitness, which had been put on hold for several years. She will tell you that CrossFit changed her life, not only with physical fitness, but increasing her emotional, mental and social well-being, but perhaps the best part has been the community aspect of CrossFit.
After 2.5 years of training as an athlete at EWCF, Chris wanted to learn more, and earned her Level 1 Training Certificate in October 2015 and continues to explore her passion for the study of optimal human movement. CrossFit allows her to follow this passion, and the constant variety keeps it interesting...there is so much to continue to learn and refine! You can find Chris teaching the Saturday morning partner classes at EWCF as well as teaching morning On-Ramp sessions, and training with CrossFit during the 5:30 or 6:30 am classes. She especially loves working with athletes who are new to CrossFit or returning to CrossFit after a hiatus, and helping them on their journey to building a strong, healthy movement practice.
Courtney Pletz, Yoga Instructor
I have been practicing yoga since 2003. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois with a degree Communications minor in Mass Media. I took my first yoga class in a gym and was hooked and fell in love. My love for yoga grew as I began practicing different styles throughout the years and I realized that I wanted others to feel this amazing feeling.
I became yoga certified in 2011 registered 200 hours and never looked back on my practice. I started teaching private lessons and teaching in my preschool classroom yoga to the kids. I traveled to Trinidad and Tobago and started teaching yoga at a local studio. It was a remarkable experience to teach in a foreign country and I truly loved sharing my passion for yoga and empowering students to meet their full potential.
Coming back to Chicago I wanted to deepen my practice so I registered with Moksha yoga studio for 500 certified hours. As I continue this program into the new year, I currently teach at local studios through the city. I teach all levels, all ages, all styles. I love building upon strength and endurance as well as the mind body and soul when teaching students..
